Mandatory update to 0.13.1

We have released a new update that includes a fix for the blockchain bug that occurred on Sunday and a new feature; a checkbox in the wallet GUI on the masternodes tab to filter for your own masternodes.

How to update your Masternode

If you have a running masternode in production, you can update it as it follows:

  • Access your VPS/VM terminal using the console (via PuTTY)
  • Stop the masternode

~/.helpcore/help-cli stop

  • Backup the current wallet information

cd ~

mv .helpcore helpcore-backup

sudo rm -rf .helpcore

mkdir .helpcore

  • Restore the current wallet information

mv helpcore-backup/help.conf .helpcore/

mv helpcore-backup/sentinel .helpcore/

  • Download and install the new wallet version

cd /tmp

wget https://github.com/gohelpfund/aden/releases/download/v0.13.1.0/helpcore-0.13.1-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz

tar xfv helpcore-0.13.1-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz

cp -f helpcore-0.13.1/bin/helpd ~/.helpcore/

cp -f helpcore-0.13.1/bin/help-cli ~/.helpcore/

  • You can now start running Help on the masternode to begin synchronization with the blockchain

~/.helpcore/helpd

You can access the explorer to view the latest block:

http://insight.gohelpfund.com/insight

How to update your Windows Wallet

  • First of all, make sure your Help Core GUI is closed
  • If you used the installer, make sure to go to Control Pannel -> Programs and Features, select Help Core and uninstall

Go to the location of your blockchain data (by default is in Roaming)

  • Key combination of: Windows + R (or just search 'Run')
  • Inside the Open form type:

%appdata%

  • Appdata/Roaming folder opened and you will continue with backing up the current wallet information
  • Rename HelpCore folder to HelpCore-backup
  • Create a new folder HelpCore
  • Copy the following file from HelpCore-backup to HelpCore

wallet.dat

  • You can download the new binaries here:

  • After you have extracted the binaries or used the installer, you can open the help core qt wallet and the blockchain will start synchronizing.

How to update your OSX Wallet

  • First of all, make sure your Help Core GUI is closed
  • If you used the installer, make sure to uninstall it (simply select it, then hold down Command and click Delete)

Go to the location of your blockchain data:

  • It can be found in the Library, in the Applications Support folder.
  • To access it, you open the Finder, select Go from the top menu, and press Option to reveal the Library folder.

No you will continue with backing up the current wallet information

  • Rename HelpCore folder to HelpCore-backup
  • Create a new folder HelpCore
  • Copy the following file from HelpCore-backup to HelpCore

wallet.dat

  • You can download the new binaries here:
